Families are welcome to watch the parade at 2:45pm. Be sure to check the office for raffle items as we'll have the drawing immediately following the parade!

In Life Lab class, we focus on social and emotional learning. From learning how to communicate your feelings and positively express emotions to understanding what empathy is, these are critical life skills that help children not just in the classroom but at home, with friends, siblings, and family members. They build resiliency, compassion, and problem-solving skills.

Tomorrow morning is our monthly assembly at 8:30am. We'll be recognizing students who have shown exceptional growth in Habit #2 - Begin with the End in Mind. That means having a plan!

Does your child 💚 to read 📚 and are they an early bird 🐦? Join the Sunrise Readers Club! Each session, we'll have a small breakfast served while we enjoy a read-aloud together!

In the 🌅Sunrise Readers Club, we'll focus on:
✅ Reading Comprehension
✅ Sight Words (TK-2) / Vocabulary (3-6)
✅ Sentence Writing

Grades TK-2 | Tuesdays & Thursdays from 7-8am
Grades 3-6 | Wednesdays from 7-8am

Sunrise Readers Club starts the week of September 21st and runs through the week of November 6. Applications are open this week (Sept. 14-18) to reserve your child's spot. Check your email from Ms. Diane last week to download the application or get a copy at the front office.

Space is limited to 15 students per group!

In 6th grade, students are learning about the art of speech and debate - from taking a position on a topic, researching and defending it to learning how to calm your nerves and speak with confidence. 🗣

It's giving students the opportunity to learn life skills that will carry over into their high school and college years and their careers. Public speaking isn't easy, but it's something that we all do at some point in our lives, whether giving a presentation in the boardroom or communicating your thoughts and ideas to classmates.

It's our goal to prepare every child for success beyond the classroom.

📸Don't forget tomorrow is Fall picture day! Students should wear their uniform with a collared shirt. If you'd like siblings to be photographed together, please bring them to the picture room before school between 7:25-7:45am. (No children under age 2, please).

One of the many benefits of a smaller school environment is the ability we have to invest in character development. Our buddies program pairs older students with younger students. 🫶

For example, our 6th graders have buddies in 1st grade. Each week they meet and do fun activities like reading together or learning how to make origami. It gives older students the opportunity to be a mentor and a friendly face younger students can see in the hallways. The bond they form is so special, and we love seeing their friendships grow throughout the year!

In observance of Labor Day, campus is closed today! We'll see everyone tomorrow!

👉Also, don't forget it's a three-day weekend in honor of Labor Day! School will be closed on Monday. Enjoy the long weekend and we'll see you on Tuesday, September 8.
